The Goleta Valley Library will become an independent municipal library on July 1, 2018. A new Director has been hired: Allison Gray, our present Supervising Librarian, will take the position on April 2. She will oversee the transition process: doing a complete re-barcoding of 80,000 items, issuing new library cards to patrons, negotiating with vendors, and more.
The library will still belong to the Black Gold Library network, there will be no change in borrowing materials from other libraries in the Black Gold system.
